Zünd is presenting digital cutting technologies for a wide range of textile applications at Texprocess in Frankfurt, Germany. The leading international trade show brings together 200 exhibitors from 28 countries, providing a comprehensive look at today’s most advanced processing technologies. In Hall 8, Booth D78, Zünd presents efficient, real-world solutions for automated cutting – from optical capture and digital workflows to new features for specific applications.
The centerpiece of the Zünd exhibit is a Zünd G3 cutter equipped with table extension, a support rack with integrated lighting, and MindCUT software. The integrated LED lighting ensures uniform lighting of the detection area and enables precise capture of even the most intricate patterns and contours. Optional curtains shield the area from unwanted ambient light, ensuring consistently high capture quality.
For upholstered furniture applications, software partner Mind Technology presents MindCAD 2D. The software supports efficient design and preparation of cut parts for the furniture industry and complements the workflow demonstrated on the Zünd cutter.
In collaboration with Assyst, Zünd is also demonstrating a processing method for digitally printed textiles. At Assyst, cut files are digitally prepared with the help of new AI features. The digitally printed fabrics are then cut at the Zünd booth. The focus here is on Shape Vectorization in MindCUT Studio. This function enables automatic capture and conversion of printed shapes into precise contours for cutting – an efficient workflow, particularly for on-demand production and variable collections.
Feature Recognition shows how AI-supported processes can further simplify cut preparation. The software detects the position of motifs on the fabric, assigns them to the corresponding cut parts, and automatically repeats this positioning along the entire roll. This replaces the previously manual process of motif placement, speeds up preparation, and ensures high repeatability and consistent quality – even for delicate materials or fabrics with repeat patterns.
For the first time at Texprocess, Zünd is showing the integrated conveyor-belt cleaning system in a live demonstration. The system automatically cleans the belt as it advances, without any physical contact. To illustrate the cleaning performance, the system is shown cutting lint-shedding carpet among other materials. A continuously clean cutting surface promotes consistent cut quality, smooth processing, and reliable vacuum performance. This is especially beneficial with frequent material changes and highly sensitive textiles. The system works exclusively with compressed air and requires no additional power supply.
