Leading flat knitting solutions provider SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan announces the release of its “SDS® KnitPaint-Online” software for programming its knitting machines. KnitPaint is proven software used by knitting companies across the globe to create knitting data for programming SHIMA SEIKI computerized flat knitting machines, which until now was available exclusively as part of SHIMA SEIKI’s SDS®-ONE APEX series all-in-one design system. With the launch of SDS® KnitPaint-Online, KnitPaint software becomes available as standalone software that carries over the same familiar KnitPaint functions, but enhanced with planning and design functionality as well. Also available is KnitPaint software exclusively prepared for programming SHIMA SEIKI’s N.SSR®072 collar knitting machine.
SDS® KnitPaint-Online carries over the same KnitPaint functions that are familiar to knit programmers using the SDS®-ONE APEX series design system. These include the creation of knit data by simply selecting a style and entering dimensions by which patterns are automatically generated and converted to stitch count. Programming can be based on patterns and design data for improved efficiency. Programming is supported by style-specific knitting know-how incorporated into the software. Knitting Viewer previews needle movement and behavior of yarn in 3D animation, while Knitting Assist function detects mistakes and difficult-to-knit areas in advance to reduce lead time required in machine adjustment.
Both SDS® KnitPaint-Online and SDS® KnitPaint-Online Collar can be installed on a desktop computer or a laptop, and can be used at work or at home depending on the customer’s work style. Ideas for knitting can now take shape anytime, anywhere.
