With highly efficient machines and continuous textile innovations, KARL MAYER underscores its role as a reliable partner for discerning top-tier customers.
Just in time for ITM 2026 in Istanbul, the industry leader is introducing a true innovation: an eyelash lace with its characteristic fringed look – combined with a previously unattainable 4-way stretch. While the established fabric could until now only be produced as rigid version or with one-dimensional stretch, the new elasticity in both dimensions expands the possibilities for cross-band panel fabrics.
This innovative lace is particularly suitable when the garment needs comfort, slim fit and long fringed eyelash edges. It eliminates also the need for zips. The two-way stretch ensures a perfect fit for figure hugging garments and sufficient freedom of movement. The lace has also a significantly higher burst-resistance due to its unusual production methodology. The lace was made on an MT 84/1/40 S, which fundamentally runs with a rather unusual bar configuration and ground bar lapping movements.
This extraordinary lace innovation inspired designer Sara Linke to create an extravagant, figure-hugging pencil dress. The alluring garment is one of the highlights of the KARL MAYER textile show at ITM, Booth 3/303 A at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center.
The MT 84/1/40 S is available in gauges E24 and E28. The working width of this TEXTRONIC® Multibar Jacquard Raschel machine for the production of high-quality elastic and rigid lace is 134″. Among its key strengths are, in particular two split Jacquard bars and one guide bar working stitch forming and two guide bars at back side, which are able to make counterlapping. In addition, the TEXTRONIC® Lace stands out for its excellent price-performance ratio, high operational reliability, and ease of use.
