AEPC facilitated the participation of 416 apparel exhibitors, connecting them with 1,365 international buyers and 722 buying agents from across the world. The event also saw participation from top CEOs and CXOs of leading European apparel companies, representatives of global apparel brands and official business delegations from Russia, Japan, Poland and Spain, creating one of the largest B2B sourcing platforms for the apparel industry.
Investment promotion remained a key focus during Bharat Tex 2026. The Ministry of Textiles organised a dedicated Trade and Investment Session, presided over by the Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh and attended by the Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Ms. Neelam Shami Rao, Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, AEPC, senior officials of the Ministry of Textiles, industry leaders and investors. The session highlighted India’s growing attractiveness as a global textile and apparel investment destination, showcased investment opportunities across the textile and apparel value chain, and reinforced the Government’s commitment to promoting domestic and global investments in the sector.
With the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) coming into force during Bharat Tex 2026, the landmark agreement remained one of the major highlights of the event. The session titled “India–UK CETA in Action: Shaping the Future of Textile Trade and Investment,” jointly organised by ITPO and AEPC, was attended by the Union Minister of State for Textiles Shri Pabitra Margherita, the Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Ms. Neelam Shami Rao, Chairman, ITPO, Shri Jawed Ashraf, and Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, AEPC, along with senior government officials and industry leaders.
The Tiruppur apparel cluster attracted strong interest from international buyers, while AEPC signed a strategic MoU with the Government of Madhya Pradesh to strengthen the state’s apparel manufacturing ecosystem.
AEPC also participated in key conferences and knowledge sessions on sustainability, FTAs, investment, innovation and manufacturing competitiveness, reinforcing India’s leadership in the global apparel sector.
Exhibitors reported strong business enquiries and productive buyer meetings, while international buyers appreciated India’s manufacturing excellence, sustainability initiatives and reliable supply chain capabilities, with many expressing interest in expanding long-term sourcing partnerships.
