The adoption of Lenzing fibers by weavers in Ichalkaranji has experienced a substantial upswing, reflecting the expanding presence of Lenzing Group in the Indian market. The choice to host the conclave in Ichalkaranji further stems from its recognition as a prominent center for producing high-quality woven greige fabrics. Today there are more than 22000 shuttleless machines running in the area that are expected to double in next 5 years. While the local market primarily deals with cotton fibers, the usage of TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers has been on the rise in the region. Ichalkaranji plays a significant role in supplying fabrics to Indian brands and retailers, as well as to international groups across the United States and European Union.
