Singapore-based dye manufacturer DyStar Group has opened what it claims is the first testing laboratory of its kind for the export industry, providing end-to-end solutions in the supply chain, from raw materials to final products, in addition to testing services. The company says the new facility – Texanlab Bangladesh Private Limited – which is located near Gulshan Aarong, in Dhaka, has the capabilities to test not only textile products but also dyes and auxiliaries. Eric Hopmann, CEO and Head of Global Sales and marketing at DyStar Singapore said the firm chose to open the new facility in Bangladesh because “it is a key country for garments, textile exports”. He added the company has Texanlabs in India and Bangladesh and would be looking to set up similar sites in Turkey, Vietnam, and “maybe” in Pakistan. Texanlab is a service company of DyStar Group. Texanlab closely works with more than 50 global brands and retailers and has tested more than 350,000 RSL parameters since its inception. Dystar said the new lab would help it to support the industry in “further reducing harmful chemicals and create a greener and cleaner environment.”
