Knitting solutions provider SHIMA SEIKI MFG.LTD. of Wakayama Japan will hold a special by-appointment-only event, “Archivi Punti Aperti (Open Archives – Knit Stitch Collection)” in Milan, Italy, from October 14 to October 28, 2026, in collaboration with Milano Trend, our promotional partner for sharing the latest developments in knit materials and connecting designers and fashion brands with yarn manufacturers, as well as with our Italian subsidiary SHIMA SEIKI ITALIA S.r.l.
The event will bring together premium yarns from leading European manufacturers, particularly from Italy, while also featuring a selection of recommended materials from yarn suppliers participating in yarnbank®, SHIMA SEIKI’s comprehensive online platform that provides the latest yarn information and digital yarn data from yarn manufacturers around the world.
This event offers a unique opportunity to experience in person the yarn and knitted fabrics normally viewed online. Visitors will be able to explore firsthand their color, texture, and feel, helping to inspire new ideas and business opportunities. As a special feature of the event, they will also be able to cut and take with them selected samples of the exhibited fabrics, allowing them to use the materials as a valuable source of inspiration for their own design and product development projects.
In addition, virtual knit simulations created with digitally reproduced yarns using SHIMA SEIKI’s APEXFiz® design software will be showcased. These realistic digital prototypes demonstrate how digital yarn data can be transformed into production-ready knitwear designs with exceptional accuracy.
The event will also feature SHIMA SEIKI’s latest knitted samples, highlighting advanced structures, techniques, and innovations that are shaping the future of the knitwear industry.
