Bihar’s Madhubani, recognised worldwide for its rich cultural heritage and traditional Madhubani paintings, is now scripting a new story of industrial development and employment opportunities.
Industries Department secretary and managing director of BIADA and IDA Kundan Kumar said on Tuesday that the recently inaugurated Savi Global Fashion Private Limited’s textile and leather manufacturing unit, set up at industrial area at Pandaul in Madhubani district, marks a significant symbol of change in the area. The initiative is not just an industrial project but a reflection of Bihar’s evolving economic vision, growing confidence, and a basis for new opportunities.
He said the textile and leather factory of Savi Global Fashion has been established with an investment of Rs 300 crore. The facility has been spread over 13.27 acres in the industrial area of Pandaul with a built-up area of approximately 6.65 acres.
The textile garments, leather products, and footwear manufactured here will not only meet domestic demand but will also play a significant role in establishing Bihar as a competitive manufacturing hub at the national level.
Kumar said that Savi Global’s unit is an important step towards taking ‘Made in Bihar’ brand to new heights. The state government is ensuring an industry-friendly environment, improved infrastructure, and a fast-track approval process for industries, Kumar added.
He added that such investments in districts like Madhubani will not only strengthen the local economy but will also accelerate the state’s inclusive growth through large-scale employment generation.
The project is expected to generate employment for around 12,000 people, further strengthening the region’s economic growth, besides creating a new source of stability and income for thousands of families, he said, adding the recruitment process has already begun.
