The National Clothing Fair by India Knit Fair Association at IKFA Complex, Tirupur from 19th to 21st August, 2022 was held successfully.
The fair was inaugurated by T.R. Sivaram, Managing Director Classic Polo Group in the presence of Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, India Knit Fair Association, K. Selvaraj, MLA (Tirupur South), K.N. Vijeyakumar, MLA ( Tirupur North) , N. Dinesh Kumar, Mayor( Tirupur Corporation), MKM. Balasubramaniam, Deputy Mayor, (Tirupur Corpoation), Thiru. Raja. M. Shanmugham (President, TEA), Govindappan, Vice President (SIHMA), Ahill Rathinasamy ( President, Knitcma), P. Gandhirajan (President, DAT), Ahill M.S. Mani ( President, TIF), T.R. Srikanth( President, TEKPA), M.P. Muthurathinam ( President, TEAMA), N. Vivekanandan (President, SIIMKA), IKFA Members and Trade dignatories.
The chief guest and Guest of Honours were very happy that such a National event for promoting domestic garment industry is really laudable and also appreciated the efforts of Dr. A .Sakthivel for organizing the same.
Dr A Sakthivel, Chairman of India Knit Fair Association informed that there are many fairs being conducted in Tirupur for Yarn, Fabrics, Machineries and Accessories etc. However this is the first time a fair is exclusively conducted for Domestic Garment Manufacturers. India Knit Fair Association use to conduct International Fairs for the Export Industry for the past 2 decades. However on seeing the necessity and to promote our domestic industry too at par with Export industry, we organized this fair.
Profile of exhibitors: In this fair, the display included all type of Garments, Yarn, Fabrics, Dyes, Home Textiles, Herbal Textiles and Accessories Etc. It is also noticed that the manufacturers are exhibiting their collections on special designs, different types of packaging methods and also visual merchandising.
A total number of 65 leading Manufacturers from Tiruppur, Perundurai, Erode, Dhalavaipuram Namakkal, Chennai, Bangalore, have participated and displayed their products. They have expressed their satisfaction and have shown interest in participating future events at Tirupur.
Visitor Report: The three day event attracted new visitors from Jammu & Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Kolkatta to Cochin and also from all districts of Tamil Nadu etc., The Participants have reported that they received good business enquires and around 800+ visitors walked in for the three-day fair and could be expected inquiries for a business of around Rs.200 cr.
All the participants expressed their happiness for being participated in the National Clothing Fair. They have had very prospective enquires and spot orders too. It is opined by them that this fair contributes a focused business deal for the season and beyond. They are also intending to participate in the next Clothing Fair too.
