Shakthikanta Das, Governor, RBI (10th February 2022) announced the decision of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) to keep the major policy Repo Rate (4.0 percent) and Reverse Repo Rate (3.35 percent) unchanged and to continue with the accommodative stand.
While thanking the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) for maintaining the policy rate at the same level, Raja M Shanmugham, President has appealed to RBI Governor to extend the Interest Equalization Scheme with retrospective effect from 1st October 2021 onwards for the benefit of MSMEs and he added that Tirupur Knitwear Cluster desperately needs to enhance their competitiveness and sustain in the business.
