Taking place 11 – 13 March 2025 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, the show is set to build on the success of the previous Spring Edition, and provide another key platform for green yarn and fibre producers from around the world. The 2024 fair saw nearly 22,000 buyers connecting with over 515 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions – international exhibitor numbers doubled from the prior year, with domestic exhibitors also increasing 27%. Along with Messe Frankfurt’s ongoing focus on sustainability through its Texpertise Econogy initiative [1] , Yarn Expo Spring 2025 aims to once again cultivate sustainable growth and innovation across the industry.
Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented: “Yarn Expo Spring 2024 provided exhibitors with unparalleled access to a global customer base, and the positive feedback underscores the show’s position as Asia’s leading yarn and fibre platform. Looking ahead to the next edition, we are committed to building on this momentum and strengthening the show’s focus on sustainable solutions. We anticipate an even larger influx of international attendance as the industry continues its vital work advancing a greener future.”
Among other key sub-sectors, the global cotton yarn market is expected to experience substantial growth, projected to soar to USD 120.4 billion by 2032 (CAGR: 7.5% from 2023 – 2032)[2]. Key factors propelling this expansion include rising demand, growing awareness of sustainability in the fashion industry, and supportive government policies. In light of sustainable market sentiment, key exhibitors at the previous edition highlighted green options, from eco-friendly cotton yarns, to recycled and regenerated fibres, and many more. At Yarn Expo Spring 2025, visitors can expect to once again discover new developments showcasing the industry’s commitment to sustainability.
Speaking at the 2024 edition, Sharad Sanghai, Director of Texperts, highlighted the industry’s focus on eco-friendliness: “We are showcasing a wide variety of sustainable products across the industry, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and sustainable viscose. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. The industry is on the right path, considering the need for eco-friendliness and the well-being of people. The Chinese market, with its dynamism and continuous growth, presents valuable opportunities for us.”
Guiding the industry towards sustainable development
A series of informative concurrent events will be held alongside next year’s fair, providing attendees valuable insights about industry trends, technologies, and market developments – enriching the overall experience. With sustainability and innovation as a central theme throughout, these events include: China Yarn Fashion Trends, Fashion Release Ceremony, Textile Materials Innovation Forum, China Fibers Fashion Trends Forum, a wide range of product launch conferences, and more.
Pleased with her organisation’s contribution to the fringe programme at the 2024 spring show, Ms Dou Juan, Vice Director of China Chemical Fibers Association, said: “I took a quick stroll around the show to explore new materials and diverse functional yarns in the industry, as well as the sustainable practices adopted by various enterprises. I was impressed by the exhibition’s strong international presence and the relevance of the forum’s theme to current hot topics.”
Yarn Expo Spring is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT. The fair will be held alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC and PH Value, with the resultant synergy allowing exhibitors and buyers to maximise their business opportunities.
