The 88th edition of Pitti Filati, featuring the latest in contemporary knitting yarn developments and knitwear trends will take place exclusively in a digital format on the Pitti Connect portal. The decision follows the Italian Government’s confirmation that all physical fairs remain suspended due to the current health emergency. The fair will kick off on the digital platform in early February and will remain online until April 5 with an ever-growing program, which will be unveiled over the next few days.
Alongside the latest collections from Pitti Filati exhibitors, the online portal will offer editorial contents, technical insights, news and ideas. The renowned Spazio Ricerca trend service will also return in a digital format to communicate the latest inspirations for the Spring-Summer 2022 collections to an increasingly wider community of designers.
Pitti Connect made its debut last July during the initial lockdown. With Pitti Filati presenting the Autumn/Winter 2021-22 knitwear yarn collections, there were also a series of single and small collective initiatives as well as virtual roadshows. During the lockdown, the mills could organize the new collections and their future strategies, with a gradual replacement of physical methods that have also been considered an environmentally sustainable choice.
Among other initiatives, in order to support sales and exports of its members, the Tuscan consortium Consorzio Promozione Filati, also created the platform, “Feel the Yarn Digital Showroom” and developed a series of services aimed at highlighting products and news of each company.
