Kitex Garments Ltd is planning to raise its production capacity from the current six lakh pieces of garments per day for ‘just-borns’ and babies up to 24 months by more than 3.5 times to 22 lakh pieces per day by 2025 to meet increasing demand, according to its Chairman and Managing Director Sabu M Jacob. Fresh investment and machinery for spinning, processing, knitting and sewing will be added from 2018-19 onwards, he added. The company aims to reach 60-70 per cent of its target by 2022, but a major issues it faces is of training workers.
