Zünd will present its modular digital cutting solutions to the plastics industry at K 2019 in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 16-23. Zünd and its partner Eurolaser will be providing industry experts with an opportunity to discuss possibilities of mechanical cutting and non-contact laser cutting, thus giving attendees a chance to compare the two methods.
Fabricators are often confronted with the question of whether to cut mechanically or with laser. Depending on specific requirements, the advantages of one cutting method over the other may set them apart; however, in certain scenarios, the two processes do not compete at all, but actually complement one another. Digital cutting systems from Zünd and Eurolaser do have quite a few things in common: both systems are highly versatile and, if production requirements demand it, each can be equipped for both types of processing capabilities, said Zund in a statement.
The focus of Zünd’s exhibit is on high-performance cutting and on processing a diverse range of plastics with applications from sealing rings and foam inserts to automotive accessories. As much as types of plastics and applications may differ, maximum productivity and reliability, along with easy integration in automated workflows, are critical competitive advantages in all production scenarios. And perfectly coordinated components are the key to success. This makes Zünd’s modular cutting systems ideal for use in industrial environments.
At the show in Düsseldorf, Zünd is exhibiting a G3 cutter, which is equally well suited as a stand-alone solution for semi-automated production of smaller quantities and as a fully integrated system in industrial production lines. With its open interface, the Zünd G3 can be quickly and easily integrated into any existing production environment. Zünd cutting systems are consistently geared towards automated digital production and generating more throughput in less time. They also play a significant role in shortening time to market and maximising material yield.
Advanced digital workflows demand a seamless flow of data. With the software solutions Zünd offers, users are perfectly equipped to handle the vast and varied demands of challenging markets. The software automatically optimises contours and adjusts cut paths for the type of material and specific tool being used. With the integrated nesting module, parts are automatically nested for optimal yield. Especially in view of rising material costs, maximising material utilisation without sacrificing quality is essential for making digital cutting productive and profitable.
