On 8th November 2023 a Prelude Session on Technical Textiles Road Show on Technical Textiles was organized by The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in association with TEA at Padmashri Dr. A. Sakthivel Auditorium.
Prelude session was conducted in connection with the 2nd Edition of Conference on Technical Textiles to be conducted on 17th and 18th November 2023, at Coimbatore. The meeting was chaired by Dr. M. Vallalar IAS, Commissioner, Department of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Thiru. Elango, Vice Chairman, CII Tirupur has given Welcome Address. The Special Address was given by Thiru. Rajkumar Ramasamy, Vice President of TEA and Thiru. Kumar Duraiswamy, Joint Secretary has delivered the Vote of Thanks.
In the meeting Dr. Vel Krishna, Co-convenor, CII Tamil Nadu Textile Panel presented the special address about the concept and process of Technical Textiles.
Dr. M. Vallalar IAS, Commissioner, Department of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu while giving the Chief Guest address narrated the importance of Technical Textiles. He said that the Textile Department of Tamil Nadu Government provides facilities like provision for Skill Development Training to Textile Workers and the incentives to the textile exporters to participate in the Global Sourcing Expo at Melbourne in Australia.
Finally, there was a Question and Answer Session and the Commissioner answered the queries raised by the participants. The Commissioner also added that he will support Tiruppur in propagating Tiruppur’s ESG activities across the globe and also emphasizes to submit a proposal for the same.
