The LYCRA Company, a global leader in developing sustainable and innovative fiber and technology solutions for the apparel industry, was proud to continue its role as the official partner of MarediModa 2025, the premier European trade show for beachwear, lingerie, and athleisure fabrics, which took place in Cannes from October 22 to 24.
This year, the company showcased innovative and stylish garments made with renewable LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, partially made with plant-based materials, in its LYCRA® Brand Lounge. Garments on display included nine pieces of Arena swimwear and five athleisure garments from Carvico. This elastane helped reduce the environmental impact of apparel while delivering the same performance as the original LYCRA® fiber. Launched and available at commercial scale, this drop-in solution served as a one-to-one replacement, with no need to re-engineer fabrics, processes, or patterns.
A highlight of the 2025 edition of MarediModa was a special Fireside Chat that took place in the MarediModa conference space on October 22 at 3:00 p.m. Entitled “From Fiber to Sustainable Swimwear: A Blueprint for Collaboration,” the session featured representatives from The LYCRA Company, Carvico, and Arena, who discussed how their special partnership was helping to reshape the future of fashion.
Members of the media were invited to a press conference and coffee break in the LYCRA® Brand Lounge immediately following the Fireside Chat. The lounge featured an LED wall that broadcasted the LYCRA® brand’s new ALL IN brand positioning and product videos. New this year was the debut of an “exhibit within an exhibit,” which illustrated key ingredients used to create its renewable fiber.
“True innovation in sustainable fashion didn’t happen in isolation — it was built through collaboration,” said Alistair Williamson, Vice President, EMEA & South Asia at The LYCRA Company. “Our partnership with Arena and Carvico demonstrated how shared values and aligned goals could accelerate the adoption of responsible solutions. At MarediModa, we were proud to showcase what was possible when brands, mills, and fiber innovators came together to help advance a more sustainable future for apparel.”
