PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan, Hon’ble Minister for Finance and Human Resource Management, Government of Tamil Nadu, presented Tamil Nadu State Budget for the year 2021-22 on Friday in Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Shri. Raja M Shanmugham, President welcomed the pragmatic budget and lauded the Government intention to improve Tamil Nadu State’s Economy belter in 2-3 years. He welcomed the announcement of decision to improve the necessary infrastructure for the promotion of Technical Textiles in Tamil Nadu and also completion of Integrated Textile Park in Tirupur.
Shri. Raja M Shanmugham said the setting up of new CETP’s with all latest Technology at Erode and Namakkal will go a long way for the growth of Textile Industry in Tamil Nadu which is a need of the hour. He continued, “Constituting a separate Department for Textiles will help to focus more on the growth of Textiles and Garment Sectors and Exports.”
The announcement on construction for labours quarters in Chennai, Coimbatore and other places is a welcome one and he was hopeful that Tirupur would find a place in other places.
The setting up of SIPCOT Parks at Rs.1,500 Cr. with plug and play facility is the regular demand of Tirupur Knitwear Sector which will help to attract investment from Tirupur Entrepreneurs. Skill Department Centre at ITI will be helpful to get trained students and he also welcomed the announcement of single window clearance.
While welcoming the announcement of constituting New Metropolitan Development Committee for four cities including Tirupur, Shri. Raja M Shanmugham said the growing Tirupur city will get benefit and the needs will be fulfilled.
He welcomed the setting up of TIDAL Park in Tirupur and noted that the announcement on extension of Coimbatore Metro Rail would be discussed with Central Government is an appreciable move and was hopeful that it will be extended up to Tirupur. He also welcomed the reduction of petrol price by Rs.3/- per litre which will be beneficial to the common people across all.
