Lectra, a company committed to crafting premium technologies that facilitate the digital transformation of fashion industry, empowering brands and manufacturers from design to production; recently organised an Cutting Room 4.0 seminar in association with Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) – Tirupur on 23rd October, 2019 at Poppys Vista Hotel, Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. The workshop was a result of partnership between AEPC and Lectra Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. and focused on how smart and connected solutions would enable apparel manufacturers to digitally transform their cutting room to meet the dynamics demands of the future.
The programme went off well and was attended by around 55 exporters. Dr. A Sakthivel, Acting Chairman, AEPC inaugurated the function and delivered his address amongst the exporters. He has also pointed out for the past 8 months the benefit of MEIS, ROSL and other benefits due from govt. has struck up and yet to release to the exporters. He advised Lectra to extend the training camp to the individual factories and train them. Now all industries are talking about 4.0., and margins have also come down so we have to adopt the latest technology.
This Lectra machine is useful for the apparel manufacturing units in the present scenario of cost cutting and avoids wastage of fabrics. While speaking at the event, Suraj Niranjan, Head of Marketing – India for Lectra explained in details about how to reduce production costs, how to improve and sustain operational performance and also explained how to improve processes and project management in the units.
Prasenjeet Shambharkar, Pre-sales Consultant for Lectra delivered his presentation and explained how the machine is functioning. BT Nagesh, MD – Lectra presented vote of thanks at the end of event. Participating firms appreciated the effort of the Council for organising such seminars for the betterment of the apparel industry. Its concepts and digital tools bring new value creation with cost control models based on synchronized, flexible and fast—design, product development, collection management, manufacturing and retaining— processes.
Industry 4.0 is a great opportunity for customers to differentiate their offer and better meet consumer expectations, with original products, designed and manufactured in an optimized way, sold at the right price and delivered as quickly as possible.
