Peru-based circular knitter Texfina has invested in its third finishing line from German textile machinery specialist Brückner. Texfina, founded in 1947, began life as a small business with the manufacture of hand-knitted sweaters made by the great-grandmother of the current managing directors. These sweaters were exchanged for food at the market.
Subsequent generations have transformed Texfina into one of South America’s leading manufacturers of knitwear. Excellent specialists and advanced machinery as well as several patents have been the basis of the company’s success with the knitwear manufacturer supplying customers worldwide with tailor-made textiles that can be made with hydrophobic, antibacterial, dirt-repellent or with UV protection properties.
With the help of efficient management systems and advanced IT processes, Texfina says it also strives to create a sustainable manufacturing system while also promoting employee commitment through a progressive organisational culture.
Brückner is a major supplier of technology for the dry finishing of textiles, technical textiles and nonwovens. Operating worldwide and owner-managed, with 75 years of tradition and experience, it develops, manufactures and sells systems for coating and finishing apparel textiles, technical textiles, glass fibre, nonwovens and floor coverings. It also offers systems for heat-recovery and exhaust air purification.
Texfina recently put its third Brückner stenter with vertical chain into operation at Texfina. The new machine for the Peruvian company, which is certified to OEKO TEX Standard 100, has 11 compartments and an air/air heat-recovery system. It provides a very homogeneous air flow, perfect temperature distribution and very low specific energy consumption which are all standard features of Brückner machines. The precisely reproducible finishing results are also a result of complete automation and recipe management in the system, which Texfina uses almost exclusively for heat-setting sports and performance wear.
Moreover, chains, chain rails and pin bar carriers are also extremely robust and low-maintenance, helping to make this machine a particularly sustainable investment, along with a pre-wash compartment before the fabric enters the stenter to ensure improved fabric quality and a reduction in emissions.
Raul Saba, President of Texfina said he was extremely satisfied with the cooperation: “The team of Brückner technologists did an excellent job, recognised our needs and configured the machine optimally. It is an enrichment for our production and a guarantee for the quality of our products.”
Regina Brückner, CEO of Brückner added: “We are delighted about the trustful cooperation with this successful customer. The cooperation with Texfina promises sustainable success and forward-looking results for both sides.”
