The Ahmedabad based Spinning King (India) Limited (Kashiwala Group of Companies) has been providing dedicated services to the Textile Industry starting its operations in the year 1990 as a Textile Consultant to Textile Industry by providing total services for Textile Projects, Pre-feasibility Studies, Project Reports and Market Survey.
Today the company is a leading supplier of bamboo fibers from Hebei Jigao Chemical Fibre Co. Ltd, Hebei Jigao Trading Co. Limited. They are Sister Concerns and their parent company JILIN group is the largest Producer of Bamboo fibre in the world. The Company is registered with all required international certifications for sustainability like FSC Chain of Custody, FSC Soil Association, OEKOTEX -100, OEKOTEX – STeP, ECOCERT, OCS etc and all these manufacturing companies are State owned Companies in China.
Bamboo Fibre is made of 100% Bamboo Pulp and their Brand names are “Tanboocel “ & “Ecobamboo. Bamboo fiber is of Grade A Quality & Product Class 1. India is not producing 100% Bamboo Fibre due to shortage of raw material as the quality of bamboo plant growing in India are not rich in pulp, So India has to import Bamboo Fibre. To the tune of approx around 8000-10000 MT per annum, making it one of the largest importer of Bamboo fibre across globe.
After Covid Pandemic, most of the Companies / Brands from countries like USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia etc. do not prefer to import from China despite the fact that Bamboo Fibre is being produced in China only. This has resulted in huge business growth for Indian Textile Manufacturers/Exporters who are making bamboo blends textile products.
Indian Manufacturers / Exporters are importing Bamboo Fibre as their Raw Material and do value addition on it to make various finished products or garments which are exported across the globe. The export proportion is approx 90-95% of bamboo finished products. This results into good Forex revenue generation. India, being a favoured country for textile end products has very good potential for Indian Manufacturers to export across globe.
Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India has recently made BIS Registration mandatory on Bamboo Fibre which will restrict import of Bamboo Fibre in India thus resulting in less and low revenue generation of Forex as most of the Foreign Buyers will prefer to import from China or other Countries. This will not only impact Indian Manufacturers/Exporters’ business of Bamboo Fibre Products, but also impact their regular Indian fibre products as majority of their regular product business will go to other countries, since most of the Foreign Buyers prefer to import from companies having multiple products under one roof. Indian Manufacturers and Exporters will face huge business Loss on YOY basis as major business will be diverted to other countries.
Spinning King (India) Limited, in a letter to the Ministry of Textile has requested to kindly withdraw the BIS registration process as it will impact Indian Manufacturers / Exporters on large scale and also result into major set-back for the Indian Textile Industry. Citing India as a major Global HUB for Textile Industries and finished products, the company wished that textile business should be growing on a YOY basis, they further urged the Ministry of Textile to re-consider the BIS registration process on Bamboo Fibres and other Fibres which are not manufactured in India from QCO imposed by the government.
