Ganni will integrate cycora into its product lines, with plans to substitute more than 20% of its yearly consumption of new and recycled polyester derived from bottles with Ambercycle’s sustainable option. The collaboration between the two companies began in 2021 and has since seen the integration of cycora into Ganni’s collections.
Cycora is a circular alternative to conventional polyester, crafted from textiles at the end of their lifecycle. It offers a sustainable option that not only diverts waste from landfills but also diminishes the need for new resource extraction while maintaining the quality and durability required for high-performance products. Ganni’s journey with cycora started with the release of a jersey containing 30% cycora in November 2023. A subsequent design featuring 70% cycora demonstrated the material’s versatility and performance capabilities.
These initial offerings proved the material’s adaptability and functional capacity and confirmed its quality and compatibility with existing supply chains, setting the stage for its broader implementation. During Paris Fashion Week, Ganni’s collection included three designs made with cycora, further cementing the material’s role in future collections and leading to the formalisation of their partnership through this offtake agreement.

This strategic alliance is crucial for both Ganni and Ambercycle. For Ganni, it aligns with sustainability goals such as halving its carbon footprint by 2027 from its 2021 baseline and ensuring that ‘Fabrics of The Future’ constitute 10% of materials in all collections by 2025.
For Ambercycle, it underscores their capability to foster a future where circularity and product excellence coexist. As sustainability targets for 2025 and 2030 loom over the fashion industry, bridging the gap between the soaring demand for circular materials and their limited availability poses a significant hurdle. By securing early access to cycora, Ganni is proactively redefining its material portfolio to favour providers like Ambercycle that contribute substantially to decarbonisation efforts.
