The Government of Tamil Nadu released Tamil Nadu Industrial Policy 2021 and MSME Policy 2021 recently. Raja.M.Shanmugham, President said he welcomed both policies and mentioned that these policies will pave way for the growth of Industries in Tamil Nadu. He thanked for continue to keeping Textiles in the focus sector and also intended to meet global standards for ease of doing business. While welcoming the support to Industrial Housing projects through PPE models, he said it is a need of hour to Tirupur Cluster. He specifically appreciated “Think MSME First”, a priority given for the development on MSMEs to ensure a level playing field under the schemes, laws and procedures applicable to them.
Raja.M.Shanmugham welcomed the announcement that MSME department will strengthen the Cluster Development Initiative and proposal to extend extra support to Clusters. He specifically noted that the incentives provided to MSMEs will help for the growth of Tirupur knitwear sector and noted that incentives like Equity participation through a designated Fund Management Company (FMC) and 20 percent of the total expenditure incurred on SME IPO, as it will help for the speedy growth of the units.
While pointing out the Capital subsidy, incentive for scaling up, Interest Subsidy Scheme for Technology Upgradation / CGTMSC Scheme, NEEDS, including Upgradation of Upskilling and Reskilling of Workers etc., Raja.M.Shanmugham said the incentives will encourage more startup units, will be utilized by Tirupur Knitwear and Stakeholders units and will create more employment to the workers.
