NTADCL has stopped water supply to industries including CETPs and IETPs further to depletion of water level in the sourcing point and considering the impact on our industry, it was decided to look after other alternatives at least to manage the envisaged situation till the commencement of rain.
TEA President Raja M Shanmugham along with General Secretary, TR Vijayakumar, EC Member DM Kumar and member D Venkatesh met the District Collector recently (10th April 2017) and suggested that the CETPs and IETPs can collect sewage water at various designated points, recycle it and manage the existing water crisis situation. After considering the suggestion, District collector called for a meeting in Tirupur Corporation in which Tirupur Corporation Commissioner, Sub Collector, NTADCL, Pollution Control Board, PWD, TWIC officials attended the meeting. From Association side, TR Vijayakumar, General Secretary and EC Member DM Kumar attended the meeting and S Nagarajan, President of Dyers Association of Tirupur also attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by District Collector and highlighted the suggestion given by Association and after a detailed discussion, it was decided to permit to collect sewage water in four designated places like Sangilipallam (Near Sukumar Nagar), Jambanai (Near Diamond Theatre), Near Nataraj Theatre, Near Sakthi Theatre and taken in the tankers lorries to the CETPs / IETPs for recycling of it and solve the water issue. The respective CETPs / IETPs have to submit an application with Corporation Commissioner and get permission for collecting the sewage water. After making the required arrangements for sewage water collection, getting EB Connection for lifting of sewage water from the corporation end, the process will commence in near future. The participants thanked District Collector, Corporation Commissioner for their quick initiatives to implement the suggestion given by Association.
The discussion was also happened on supplying of water to industries only for drinking purpose and for usage of water to the employees stay in Hostel, the water tanker lorry owners are permitted and they make it ensure that no objection will be raised from any quarters. It is also to be noted that the industries can also draw water from their own farms / places, transport and utilise it only for drinking purpose and make it ensure that no issue is being raised by anyone from the water drawn places.
