CiCLO® additive is thoroughly blended with the base polymer while in molten form during melt extrusion to create countless biodegradable spots in the matrix of the plastic. These spots act as pathways that enable naturally occurring microorganisms to break down and digest CiCLO® fibers, resulting in the production of basic natural elements
Fibre Green is RSWM’s novel initiative to recycle PET bottles and convert them into high quality polyester yarn. The idea is rooted in the fact that plastic is non biodegradable and is a major pollutant.
PET bottles are converted into flakes and then into chips by polymerization and finally PET chips are converted into fiber in different denier and cut length for spinning the yarn.
Special additives CiCLO® added inside during melt extrusion, which creates countless biodegradable points in the matrix of the plastic.
CiCLO® technology enables microbes to treat synthetic fibers like natural fibers. Textiles made using the CICLO® technology biodegrade in seawater, soil, landfill and wastewater in 3.5 to 5.0 years, as compared to 200-300 years for standard polyester, according to ASTM and ISO test methods.
